RESURFACING works on the M90 at Kelty will cause the southbound carriageway to be closed over the weekend.

Work will take place through the day and night, beginning at 7.30pm tomorrow evening (Friday) and set to be completed by 6.30am on Monday.

The section of road to be shut off is between Junction 3 and 4 and a contraflow will be in place on the northbound lane.

Upgrading of the road surface was needed with more than 30,000 vehicles using the southbound carriageway every day and the works will cost around £296,000 to complete.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north east unit representative, said, “The M90 is one of the busiest trunk roads in the north-east of Scotland and these improvements reflect our commitment to the continued safety of the route.”
