PRIMARY 6 and 7 pupils at Crossgates Primary School had a wicked Wednesday last week as they held a Harry Potter day.

Lauren Gibson, Primary 7 teacher, told the Press what it was all about. She said, “In P6 and P7 we’ve been doing Harry Potter as a topic. We got the parents in to share the learning and so they could find out what we’ve been doing.

“We also raised some money for the P7 trip and we managed to get £360.

“The kids planned it all by themselves, it was their enterprise so they decided the groups and activities. Everyone came in dressed as something from Harry Potter and there was a raffle, cake, how many beans in the jar, guess the weight of the broomstick, a quiz and the kids sold some butterbeer.

“They loved it and it’s all they’ve been talking about for a week! It was a fantastic day and my colleague Nicola Drummond and I are thankful to the parents and everyone that contributed.”
