RNLI LIFEGUARDS at Aberdour were kept busy as more than 3000 visitors flocked to Silver Sands beach to soak up the sun, sea and sand yesterday (Thursday).

Lifeguards Lachlan Edwards and Lisa Malpas reunited several lost children with their parents, treated an infant with an allergic reaction and provided vital casualty care for a child who had suffered a badly fractured arm.

Lifeguard supervisor Chris Rigby said, "We’re so proud of how hard the lifeguards worked on all of our beaches today. This is a beautiful stretch of coast, which we want everyone to enjoy safely."

The RNLI is working in partnership to provide the service, with lifeguards on duty from 10am to 6pm seven days a week until Sunday 6th September.

Beachgoers are urged to swim between the red and yellow flags. Lifeguards are also on hand to offer advice about local conditions and help visitors enjoy the beach safely.
