THE Culross Gala week is set for a colourful conclusion with a fancy dress parade on Friday (tomorrow) and races galore for the children on Saturday.

It’s been a fun-filled calendar in the village with football, films, a family walk and storytelling all part of the annual celebrations.

And it continues tonight (Thursday) with quad biking and tomorrow the kids will don the costume of favourite characters from books, cartoons, TV and films.

Gala committee secretary Keira Neal said, “It’s the fancy dress parade on Friday at 6.15pm from the school to the village green, where the judging will take place, and they can dress up as whatever they like.

“The gala day itself is on Saturday but it’s a very traditional gala – there are no stalls or fairground attractions – it’s purely races for the village kids.

“It starts at 11am on the village green and the children get medals and trophies.” The gala week started on Sunday with a ramble through the village and up to Nelsons Farm, where participants enjoyed some ice cream, with football on Monday, storytelling with puppets on Tuesday and film night on Wednesday.
