Let"s stop being so patient with self-styled environmentalists

IT"S easy to laugh at councillors who offer absurd proposals in attempting to meet new green targets.

However, I suggest that we shouldn"t be so tolerant because this sort of nonsense is underwritten by the most insidious and evil movement confronting our way of life.

Let"s stop being so patient with those self-styled environmentalists.

It is not a scientifically-proven fact that human activity is affecting climate change (even if it is happening).

And the most dangerous argument they are deploying is that, even if we are wrong, then we are erring on the safe side.

The direct result of their erring on the safe side is that hundreds of millions of people are being deprived of the huge amounts of energy they need.

At its most basic, these people cannot even purify and pump water to their homes.

In vast swathes of the undeveloped world, they need huge quantities of electricity and they have huge reserves of coal to allow them to generate that power.

But what do we, in our relative comfort and good health, offer by way of assistance?

We sent them environmental consultants (government-appointed or self-proclaimed), who recommend irrelevant and costly windmills and solar panels.

It"s long past time for us to confront and discredit the antics of the greenies.

If we don"t, then it"s a safe bet that in the near future it will become plain that they have caused more suffering – and shortened more lives than did Hitler, Stalin and Chairman Mao combined.
