Leave football out of the Olympics

SO whom do we believe about having a combined under-23 'GB" team to take part in the 2012 Olympics in London?
Jim Murphy, the Labour government"s Scottish secretary, is happy to accept FIFA"s assurance that it will not undermine Scotland's status as an independent footballing nation.
Has Mr Murphy ever looked at the internal politics of that discredited organisation?
On the other hand, the SFA, former team manager Craig Brown and virtually all of the rest of Scottish football smells a rat and see this as the thin edge of the wedge to remove Scotland (plus Wales and Northern Ireland) from the international scene.
I support this view.
As for the London Olympics people, what faith can we have in an organisation that cannot even get its name right?
Should it not be Team UK, or, doesn"t Northern Ireland have a right to take part?
The Olympic Games should only be for athletics, swimming and cycling, its historic core.
For years, this money-grabbing organisation has been trying to take over other sports.
Leave football alone! We already have the World Cup, a competition far better organised than the Olympic Games which, on this occasion, will bring vast benefit to London at the expense of Scotland and other 'distant' parts of the UK.

Agreed.
Any sport which does not regard the Olympics as the highest echelon, and the athletes do not regard as the pinnacle of their career/acheivements should not be part of the Olympics.
I include in this category of sports that should not be there:
Football
Baseball
Tennis
Basketball
