About Barnardo’s

Barnardo's has more than 100 years experience of finding alternative families for children, 30 years fostering in Scotland.

As a foster carer with Family Placement Services you will receive:

training – regular events, usually locally based

qualifications – opportunities to gain an SVQ or similar

support - 24 hour availability

- individual support worker from our Fife team

- childrens worker / child psychotherapist

- locally held carer support group

breaks – regular respite so you can have a holiday and weekend breaks

finance – fees £207 - £345 per week per child + allowances for each child depending on their age

matching – careful consideration of how a child will fit with your family & circumstances
