MARC MCAUSLAND has left Dunfermline, the club have announced.

The 27-year-old joined the Pars in September on a deal until the end of the season but, in a statement, Athletic said: "It is with regret that DAFC announce that Marc McAusland has left our club.

"Marc has exercised an option in his existing contract that he signed in September, which allowed him to leave this month subject to certain terms and conditions being met.
"Marc has made a big contribution, on and off the park, since he joined our club so leaves with the best wishes of everyone at East End Park, and our thanks for his efforts.
"We wish Marc well, as he looks to fulfil his long held aspiration of playing abroad."

After signing for the Pars, McAusland told Press Sport of his desire to play abroad during his career but was keen to play his part in their promotion push.

He said at the time: "There were a couple of things in Europe and also India in the summer but for whatever reason they broke down, but I do plan to go abroad at some point in my career if it comes up.

"Obviously my main focus just now is to play and win as many games as I can for Dunfermline and help us win promotion, but I want to see the world and different cultures."

Former St Mirren man McAusland made his debut against this Friday's opponents, Airdrieonians, in September and went on to make 15 appearances for the Pars.
