TOMORROW will be a proud day for Faissal El Bakhtaoui as some of his family members travel to watch him play for the very first time.

While the Pars’ talisman is fully focused on getting on the field and trying to become League One’s top goalscorer on the day they lift the coveted trophy, the supporters who will pack into East End Park are praying it will not be the last time they see their hero in a black and white shirt.

The 23-year-old, who has hit an incredible 30 goals this season, continues to be linked with a number of clubs as speculation mounts over whether he will be part of Dunfermline’s return to the Championship next season.

But El Bakhtaoui, who has been nominated alongside Joe Cardle for the PFA Scotland League One Player of the Year award, told Press Sport that he has made no decision yet over his future – and staying with Allan Johnston’s side has not been ruled out.

He said: “There is no decision yet “I have to wait and see, speak with my agent and make a decision on what I will do.

“It is a big decision for me and I hope I can go to a high level in football but I have to take my time and listen to my agent.

“I am happy at the club; we have a great changing room.

“I am good with everyone and I like Dunfermline.

“The fans have been good too but I am just concentrating on football just now.

“I can’t wait for Saturday because it will be my first trophy as a professional.

“But we will try to do our best and play well for the fans and I hope I’m playing.

“I want to try and be top scorer but my sister and brother are coming for the last game.

“My brother has been before but this will be the first time that my sister, her husband and their kids have seen me play, so that will be great for me.”

El Bakhtaoui has been sweeping the boards at fans’ player of the year events and, speaking of his PFA nomination, he continued: “I am happy to be nominated.

“I didn’t expect it but it is a big thing for my career and if I win it will be massive.

“I am happy for the trophies from the fans and we will have a good celebration on Saturday.

“If I can score with my family there that will be great!”
