DUNFERMLINE will open their Scottish Championship 2016-17 campaign at home against Dumbarton.

Allan Johnston's men face The Sons at East End Park on Saturday August 6 before two tasty away days against Hibs on August 13 and Raith on August 20.

The Pars first game against Dundee United is at home on Saturday September 10 and there's two huge derbies to look forward to over the festive period.

Falkirk are the visitors on Christmas Eve and Dunfermline make the short trip to Kirkcaldy on Hogmanay to take on Raith.

The first match of 2017 will be at Somerset Park with Athletic taking on Ayr on Saturday January 7.

The final six matches, which may well be crucial to Pars' season, will see Johnston's men hope to make Hibs look foolish at home on April 1, they're at East End again the following week to face Raith on April 8 before a trip to Dumbarton on April 15.

Pars take on Falkirk at home on April 22, they're also at East End against Morton on April 29 before finishing up at Queen of the South on May 6.
