INVERKEITHING waterski star Georgina Hutchison is riding the crest of a wave after she picked up four trophies at a major national competition recently.

The talented teenager, who took up the sport four years ago and trains at the National Waterski Centre in Townhill, took part in the British National Waterski Championships in Gosfield, Essex, over the last weekend in July and took on the best ladies and girls from across the UK.

Inverkeithing High School pupil Georgina took part in three disciplines - slalom, tricks and jump - at under-17 level and, in qualifying for the slalom final, she posted a personal best score that also saw her reach the ladies open final, which was open to the top 10 ladies and girls from all age categories.

After setting the best qualifying score, she started the under-17 slalom final last but, despite knowing the score she needed to get the win, she just missed out on the top prize to Katie Nutt to finish second despite recording a highly credible score.

Georgina, 16, finished a respectable seventh in the open final but more trophies followed in the tricks and jump events as she secured two well-earned third places.

A successful weekend for the star, who has claimed top spot nationally in each discipline at under-14 level, was completed when she picked up a fourth accolade for being placed third overall in the under-17 age category.
