PITREAVIE AAC history-maker Eilidh Doyle missed out on a medal in last night's Olympic 400 metres hurdles final.
Doyle, 29, placed eighth in 54.61 seconds in the final just after 2.15am UK time at the Olympic Stadium.
Doyle is in her second Olympics and has bettered her performance at the 2012 London Games, where she reached the semi-finals.
She told the BBC after the event that she felt she "nailed" the race and was happy with her performance over the hurdles.
However, she couldn't match the speed of a class field which saw the gold medal won by USA's Dalilah Muhammad.
Muhammad, 26, clocked 53.13 seconds in rainy conditions to beat Dane Sara Slott Petersen (53.55) into second.
American Ashley Spencer ran a personal best of 53.72 to take the bronze medal.
