THREE teams are becoming isolated at the bottom of the Championship and two of them, Dumbarton and Dunfermline, meet at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium on Saturday.

The bookmakers are having trouble splitting them; the Sons are 8/5, a draw 13/5 and the Pars 31/20 (Betvictor). A combined three wins in 20 for these two strugglers is utterly uninspiring and three in 22 could well be the revised percentage after 4.45pm on Saturday.

Prediction: Dumbarton 1 Dunfermline 1.

Aberdeen and Celtic meet in a second versus first Premier League clash on Saturday (Sky Sports 2, 12pm). At the time of writing, only Skybet have priced the game up: Celtic are 4/6, a draw 11/4 and Aberdeen 7/2.

The Yorkshire-based layer have also supplied odds for Rangers’ 3pm home game with Kilmarnock. The Gers are 2/7, a draw 9/2 and Killie 7/1. Other bookmakers will follow suit after the midweek fixtures, therefore it is advisable to wait until then before wagering on these matches.

BBC Alba are continuing their coverage of the Championship by featuring Raith and Queen of the South on Saturday evening (5.15pm). After a flying start, the Doonhamers are beginning to falter and their Fife hosts can leapfrog them in the table with a victory. The bookmakers have recognised this and put up Raith as 11/10 favourites to prevail. Queen of the South are 12/5 and it is 13/5 that the points are shared.

The Champions League fourth round of group games take place next week and they are keeping with the tradition of reversing the previous matches, meaning that Celtic will be travelling to Germany to take on Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday (BT Sport ESPN, 7.45pm). There ought to be no horseplay from the Foals, who are 8/15 (Betfred) to do the double over their Glaswegian opponents. The Bhoys are 13/2 (Bet365) and a draw 18/5 (Skybet).

Elsewhere in that group, Barcelona will be looking to pummel Manchester City once again (BT Sport 2, 7.45pm); they are 11/8 (Betway) to emerge triumphant at the Etihad Stadium. City are 21/10 (Betfred) and a stalemate 11/4 (Hills).

Michael Van Gerwen is considered the new king of the tungsten and he is 5/4 favourite with Skybet to win darts' European Championships in Belgium starting on Friday (ITV4, 12.30pm). Phil Taylor is 4/1, main Scottish hope Gary Anderson 7/1, Dave Chisnall 16/1, Peter Wright 20/1 and it is 33/1 and upwards everyone else. Most bookmakers are offering each way terms 1/2 odds but your selection must reach the final.
