HE was frozen out in the Granite City but Callum Morris insists that his spell with Aberdeen hasn't left him feeling cold.

Instead, the central defender believes that his time in the north-east has helped his game and says that he would make the same move again if he turned back the clock.

Morris was a surprise capture by Dons boss Derek McInnes last summer after leaving Dundee United following their relegation, with the lure of playing European football proving too much to resist.

But before he had a chance to stake a claim for a place in the Reds' side, an achillies injury saw him miss most of pre-season and saw him unable to dislodge the likes of Mark Reynolds, Ash Taylor and Anthony O'Connor.

The 26-year-old failed to make a single appearance for the Pittodrie club but he said: "I like to think, character-wise, I learned a lot and it'll stand me in good stead in terms of staying professional and having the right attitude. I played and trained with with some of the top players in players in Scotland, guys like Adam Rooney, and it is a massive club. There were European games, they got to a final (League Cup final against Celtic) but in pre-season, I had a niggling injury and I missed most of it.

"I never really got a chance after that. It was a shame because I thought I could play there, but I have no regrets because I trained with some great players. Football moves on quickly and I spoke with the manager, who was up front and honest, and agreed I had to go and play games."

He added: "Before I left here I actually had the chance to go to Aberdeen before I signed for Dundee United. Nobody could turn that chance down and so I jumped at it when it came around again. I was training Monday to Friday but then having the weekend off, which was crazy!

"I know this place well and I've come in to work hard, help the team develop and push up the table. It's good to walk around Dunfermline and say hello to people and my girlfriend actually said what a nice, friendly, family club it is when we've been to games. It's great to be back."
