ATHLETES from PH Racing Club were in action on Saturday during the third and final meet in the East District League.

The men’s race consisted of three undulating laps totalling 8.1 kilometres and Racing Club’s top performer was Michael Combe (below), who crossed the line in a time of 30 minutes, 56 seconds.

He was followed home by junior athlete Daniel Smith, who clocked 32:23, and Scott Love, who made it home in a time of 33:34.

Ahead of the men’s race, there were three PH ladies in action, and Karen Kennedy and Rachel Drummond were in impressive form once more.

Kennedy (right), posting a time of 23:30, finished the race as third veteran while Drummond posted an excellent time of 26:46. They were followed by cross-country debutant Natalie Brown, who completed the circuit in 28:49. This weekend, attention turns to the Scottish Veteran Harrier Club Road Relays, which take place at Strathclyde Country Park on Sunday with six teams from PH taking part.
