LAST week’s defeat to Falkirk scotched any hopes Dunfermline had of making the Championship play-offs so pride is the only thing at stake in their last two games.

Out-of-form Greenock Morton are the opponents on Saturday in the final match of the season at East End Park but the bookmakers make the Pars marginal outsiders for the contest; Dunfermline are 33/20 (Ladbrokes/Coral), a draw 11/4 and the ’Ton 31/20.

Morton are ensconced in the play-off places with only a slim chance of catching Dundee United or Falkirk above them and, moreover, have not won in seven games, so it is difficult to understand their favourites tag. The somewhat bizarre price of 33/20 is actually a good one. Prediction: Dunfermline 2 Morton 1.

Staying in the Championship, BBC Alba are back with their Saturday tea-time slot (5.15pm) and they have chosen to concentrate on the Dundee United versus Dumbarton game. The Terrors are 4/5 (Stan James), a draw 13/5 and the Sons 19/5 (Betvictor).

The Old Firm are racking up the derbies at present and their latest league game is to be televised by Sky Sports 1 on Saturday (12pm kick-off). Rangers are pretty much booked for third place but Celtic have an unbeaten record to protect so the match ought to be as feisty as ever. The Bhoys are 8/11 to chalk up another win against their arch rivals, the Gers 15/4 and a draw 3/1.

BT Sport 2’s cameras are going to be witnessing the Highland derby between Ross County and struggling Inverness CT tomorrow (Friday) night (7.45pm kick-off). The Staggies are even money (Stan James/Betvictor), Caley 3/1 (Bet365/Betfred) and a stalemate 13/5.

Boxing’s heavyweight division has had many top-quality contests over the last 12 months and another mouth-watering clash takes place on Saturday night (Sky Box Office, 10pm) when Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko do battle at Wembley.

Joshua is 4/9 to dispatch his Russian opponent, Klitschko is 9/4 (Bet365) and a draw is 40/1 (Paddy Power). There are several other markets to consider if you think the match prices are accurate; method of victory, the round your nominated selection will win in and total rounds (on an over/under basis) are likely to be three of the most popular.
