DAVID HUTTON will have his hands full with a new addition to the family this summer but isn’t sure which football family he’ll be with next season.

But the Pars stopper hopes to have the chance to end the campaign between the sticks in a bid to impress Allan Johnston or any potential suitors as he weighs up his future.

The experienced 31-year-old admitted he had “never seen anything like” Saturday’s unexpected appearance against Falkirk, which saw glove rival Sean Murdoch at the centre of penalty controversy.

Immediately after the Bairns netted the hotly-disputed spot-kick that under-fire referee Gavin Duncan wrongly gave against Murdoch, he was taken off with a knee injury and allowed Hutton to make his 12th appearance this season.

He was unable to prevent Nathan Austin from winning the game for the visitors and, speaking to Press Sport this week, he admitted: “It was hard to come on; I’ve never seen anything like that. It was blatant that Sean got the ball. You try to get on with it but sometimes it can linger on your mind; it was horrible, especially getting beat in a derby.

“It didn’t affect me and you have to be ready to come on if needed. I obviously wish I hadn’t lost a goal and was hoping we’d score but it wasn’t to be and if I’m called upon on Saturday I’ll try my hardest to keep the ball out the net.

“My contract’s up so I’ll need to wait and see what happens; it’s up to the gaffer. I’d like to get something sorted, especially as my missus is expecting a wee boy at the start of June. I need to play football but there’s been nothing concrete yet; I just need to do what I have to do.

“The manager knows what I can do but it has been hard (sitting on the bench). I want to play but it’s one of those things; Sean’s come back in and done well but I thought I did my bit when I came into the team. But it’s not my decision.”

For now though, Hutton wants to help his team-mates to a fifth-place finish but if he is to move on in the summer, the bubbly keeper will have fond memories of his time at East End.

He added: “All the boys think I’m nuts! I’ve really enjoyed it here; we’ve got a great bunch of lads and obviously winning the league last year was great. But it’s just a waiting game now and we’ll see what happens.

“It would be really good if we could finish with a couple of wins against Morton and at Queen of the South and I hope that we can make sure we finish fifth.”
