TWO West Fife football clubs will host weekly football centres dedicated to girls football following the launch of a Scottish Football Association initiative.

The governing body this week launched Girls’ Soccer Centres across the country with the aim of providing a fun environment for young girls to perfect their skills, grow in confidence and fall in love with football, and build on the success of the national team to increase participation among primary school-aged kids.

Dunfermline Athletic Girls and Duloch Juniors are set to host two of the weekly centres.

They are run in partnership with local authorities and clubs for girls aged between five to 12 across the six SFA regions, with a member of the national team appointed as an ambassador the centres within their home home region to provide a visible female role model for those taking part.

Dunfermline Athletic Girls will host their weekly centre at the Vince Conference Centre on Wednesdays from 6-7pm, and Duloch’s will take place at Masterton Primary on Tuesdays from 6.15-7.15pm. For more, email dunfermlineathleticgfc@gmail.com or dulochjuniors@yahoo.co.uk.
