CAROLINE WEIR has been named in the Scotland squad for a European Championship warm-up double header next month.

The 21-year-old Liverpool Ladies midfielder is among 20 players named by coach Anna Signeul to play friendlies at home to Romania and in Sweden on June 9 and 13.

Dunfermline-born Weir returns to the squad after missing the women's team's match with Belgium in April and is looking to add to her current total of 35 caps.

The games will provide the Scotland players with one last chance to impress before the squad for July's European Championships is named.

Weir, who earlier this year was voted as Scotland's player of the year, featured in each of Scotland's qualifiers as they reached their first ever tournament finals.

They will play England, Spain and Portugal at the competition and supporters can cheer on Pars fan Caroline and her team-mates against the Romanians at the Falkirk Stadium on June 9.

They then travel to Sweden to take on a team ranked sixth in the world.
