THEY'VE produced stylish performances on the pitch and now youngsters with Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts will look the part too after receiving new kit.

The club’s under-16s, who have played in the Fife Football Development League for the past three years, finished fourth in their final season and are preparing to move into the Association of Fife Youth Football Clubs league.

They have been kitted out thanks to two local businesses.

Nicola Russell, the team’s secretary, told Press Sport: “We rely on sponsors to help out with the kits to keep the monthly subs for the boys and their families reasonable to ensure that football is accessible to all.

“Martin Shahamat and his wife kindly sponsored the team’s away kit last season with Catriona’s hair and beauty salon, Sanctuary Hair and Beauty, which was really appreciated by the team.

“Then Martin kindly offered his business, Enterprise Joinery and Building Services, to sponsor our new home kit.

“With the boys all now into adult strips, these don’t come cheap at around £600 for the team’s kit.

“Without the help and sponsorship from business owners like Martin and Catriona, grassroots football teams wouldn’t be able to help the kids out like we do.”

She added: “We have 18 players in the team, with the majority playing with the Swifts for over three years.

“The team and all their parents would like to say a big thank you to Martin and Catriona for their continued support, and hopefully we will have an excellent season in our new league while looking extremely smart in our new kits!”
