THE PARS are slowly appearing on the bookmaker’s radar for the title with last week’s victory prompting their odds to be cut from 10 to 8/1.

The Pars remain each-way value at that price with most layers are still paying terms at ? odds, 1,2,3. Dunfermline can enhance their credentials further when they visit Dumbarton on Saturday. The Sons are currently one of five winless teams in the league and are 27/10 (Betvictor) to end that streak. Dunfermline are evens and the draw 13/5. You would not want the price for the Pars to be any shorter, especially away from home, but they should be too strong for their West Dunbartonshire opponents.

Prediction: Dumbarton 0 Dunfermline 2.

Two Scottish Premiership matches are being televised on Sunday and if the odds are anything to go by, the away teams are going to have a fruitful time.

Hibernian travel to Dundee in the lunchtime fixture (Sky Sports Football, 12.30pm) and are 21/20 (Hills) to condemn the Dark Blues to their fourth successive league defeat. The hosts are 3/1 (Betfred) and it is 12/5 the spoils are shared.

Ross County entertain Rangers that afternoon (BT Sport 1, 3pm) and are 9/2 (Betfred) to inflict a surprise victory on their Glaswegian rivals. The Gers are 7/10 (Skybet) and the draw 3/1.

It is not that often that a team second in the table is an 18/1 shot to win their next game but St Johnstone are that dismissive price in the battle of the top two at Parkhead (Saturday 3pm). Celtic are 2/11 and a draw 13/2.

The final tennis major begins on Monday and the bookmakers have compiled the outright prices. Roger Federer is back at the top of the pile in the men's competition, installed as a 6/4 favourite. Rafael Nadal is 11/4; Alexander Zverev and Andy Murray both 8/1, Nick Kyrgios and Marin Cilic 18/1 and then it is 20/1 and upwards the remainder of the field.

Garbine Muguruza heads the ladies' market at 9/2 as she bids to follow up her success at Wimbledon; Karolina Pliskova is 15/2; Simona Halep 9/1; Johanna Konta and Elina Svitolina both 11/1; Maria Sharapova 16/1; Madison Keys 18/1 and then again it is 20/1 bar.

The much-hyped boxing contest between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Conor McGregor takes place in the early hours of Sunday morning (Sky Sports Box Office, 4am) at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Mayweather has always been a reasonably short odds favourite for the fight; currently he is 3/10 (Bet365), McGregor 7/2 (Boylesports) and a draw 50/1 (Unibet). Mayweather is 5/6 (Bet365) to win inside the distance and 11/4 on points; McGregor 4/1 inside the distance and 33/1 on points. The round the fight ends, total rounds (on an under/over basis) and either boxer to be knocked down are other highlights of the many markets available.
