A NEW date for Dunfermline's postponed match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle has been confirmed.

The game had been originally been scheduled for Saturday February 17 but was cancelled due to the Highlanders' involvement in the Irn-Bru Cup semi-finals.

It will now take place on Tuesday March 6, meaning that the Pars will have two successive home games immediately after going this calendar month without one.

Chairman Ross McArthur had attempted to bring the game forward to this Saturday - a designated Scottish Cup date - after both teams were knocked out of the tournament at the fourth round stage.

However, Inverness declined the offer, meaning Athletic will fulfil their outstanding league fixture at Livingston - postponed in December due to the weather - this Saturday.

The Pars thumped John Robertson's side 5-1 in their previous East End meeting in August, but fell to a 1-0 defeat on the road in October.
