DUNFERMLINE have announced the return of midfielder James Vincent on a season-long loan deal this afternoon.

The 28-year-old completed a medical at East End Park this morning and comes back to the club for a second temporary stint from parent club Dundee.

Vincent signed for the Pars in January's transfer window after finding himself out of the picture at the Premiership outfit, and went on to make 12 appearances.

His arrival will compensate for the sudden departure of Willo Flood, who last Wednesday shocked supporters when it was announced he was leaving for Indonesian side Bali United just nine days after signing for Athletic.

In March Vincent, who scored the winning goal for Inverness Caledonian Thistle against Dunfermline's bitter rivals Falkirk in the 2015 Scottish Cup final, told Press Sport that he would be open to a permanent move if it became an option.

He is contracted at Dens Park until next summer, but said at the time: "I've loved every moment of playing here.

"I'm so grateful to both the manager and the chairman for giving me the opportunity to come and play here. My career was almost stagnating at Dundee so I needed the move.

"In terms of my future, I'm open to anything.

"It's a discussion I will have with my parent club and then see where we're at from there."

We will have more reaction and an interview with Vincent in Thursday's Press.

Meanwhile two former Pars players have agreed deals with other Fife clubs.

Full back Jason Talbot and midfielder Nat Wedderburn, whose contracts were not renewed when they expired in May, have signed for Cowdenbeath and Raith Rovers respectively.

Talbot, who was Allan Johnston's first signing when he took over as manager in 2015, played for the Blue Brazil as a trialist in their friendly with Dundee last night.

He has agreed to join the League Two side for the season, and will work once more with Gary Bollan, who managed the Englishman at Livingston.

Wedderburn, who played for Athletic for the last two seasons, has completed a switch to Kirkcaldy ahead of Rovers' League One campaign.
