ANOTHER week and another weak performance from the Pars as Inverness coasted to victory.

Three second-half goals flew in at East End Park as Allan Johnston watched his side crumble.

Johnston made two changes to the side that were humbled by Ayr United 4-1 the previous week as Andy Ryan and James Craigen dropped out for Myles Hippolyte and Joe Thomson.

Miles Hippolyte produced the first talking point of the piece when his rasping left-foot strike crashed the crossbar after Mark Ridgers' fingertips kept it out.

As the stopper recovered from the ground, he got back to his feet to see Danny Devine catch the ball flush on the volley from outside the area.

Thankfully for Ridgers and the visiting support, the ball sailed wide on 16 minutes.

Moments later Jackson Longridge attempted to notch his third league goal of the season but his piledriver followed the trajectory of Devine's earlier effort.

John Robertson's men were growing into the game and perhaps could have taken the lead on 27 minutes.

The Caley boss would've been hoping Jordan White had met Tom Walsh's inviting back post delivery instead of the arriving Joe Chalmers.

The midfielder was unmarked but couldn't keep his effort down from close range.

It was a let off for the Pars who were looking vulnerable at the back once more shortly afterwards as captain Lee Ashcroft slipped in possession.

Doran played in Tom Walsh but his effort was poor and comfortable for Robinson to deal with.

The first half ended with the sides level with frustrations building, as Louis Longridge and Myles Hippolyte both had choice words for Liam Polworth and Carl Tremarco during a scuffle.

After slamming his side for their performance against at Somerset Park, Johnston cut a disappointed figure on the touchline shortly after the break.

For the fourth league game in a row, his men were left chasing the game after an ex-Par edged the visitors ahead.

Mark Durnan lost his footrace with Tom Walsh as the winger hared down the left channel. Durnan felled his man - resulting in a yellow card - and from the following free-kick Lee Robinson palmed Liam Polworth's effort away.

The ball was recycled on the flank to Aaron Doran, whose pinpoint delivery met Sean Rooney. The defender's downward header nestled into the back of the net on 50 minutes.

One of three transfer deadline day recruits was introduced on 57 minutes as Robbie Muirhead replaced Hippolyte in a bid to draw level.

Dunfermline had the worst defensive record in the league prior to kick-off, and their goals against column was added to on 71 minutes thanks to the impressive Polworth.

In what was a poor game of football, a swift Inverness counter provided the first real moment of quality.

The Pars were guilty of conceding possession all too often and their lack of composure on the ball resulted in Caley doubling their advantage.

Doran led a three-on-two breakaway and for the second time in the match, his delivery was perfect for an unmarked Polworth to apply the finishing touch past Robinson.

That goal was enough for a handful of Pars fan who headed for the exits, having seen enough of their team's efforts.

A handful turned into swarms as substitute George Oakley twisted the knife in further.

Doran once again provided the engineering as his flick through to the striker sent him in the clear before slotting home much to the delight of the travelling faithful.

Expletives were hurled from the home support as Don Robertson blew the full-time whistle as the Pars fell short once again.

Boreham Wood provide the next test on IRN-Bru Cup duty, before Alloa Athletic visit East End Park.
