THE PARS ended a run of three league defeats last weekend but are still without a win since the opening day.

On Saturday, they travel to Greenock Morton who are two places but already four points better off. The bookies have priced up the ’Ton at 11/8, a draw 12/5 and the Pars 19/10 (Betvictor/Betfred).

Morton tend to be underrated by the bookmakers; they are still an overpriced 20/1 to win the league despite being only three points off top spot. However, having taken only a point from their last two matches, Morton might be enduring a blip and the Pars can back up last week’s no score draw by securing another one at Cappielow.

Prediction: Morton 0 Dunfermline 0.

Celtic and Rangers are both in Europa League action so their two league games have been shunted to Sunday, with the former’s clash at Rugby Park being televised (Sky Sports Football, 12.30pm). The Bhoys are 1/2 (Hills) to claim the three points, a draw is 18/5 (Skybet) and Killie 8/1 (Skybet). Rangers host St Johnstone at Ibrox in a non-televised 3pm game and the prices are Gers 1/3, a draw 9/2 (Betfred) and Saints 10/1 (Spreadex).

The Europa League starts the group stage process tonight (Thursday) and English teams head the outright market. The leading clubs’ odds are as follows: Chelsea 6/1, Arsenal 9/1, Sevilla 18/1 (Unibet), AC Milan 25/1 (Bet365), Bayer Leverkusen 25/1, RB Leipzig 28/1 (Skybet) and Lazio, Marseille and Villarreal all 33/1. Celtic are 80/1 and Rangers 350/1 (Bet365).

Celtic are in Group B, from which they have realistic hopes of qualifying to the next stage. RB Leipzig are even money (Betvictor) to top the section, Salzburg are 7/2 (Boylesports), Celtic 4/1 (Hills) and Rosenborg 16/1. Those prices indicate that Celtic start off with their easiest game as they play the Norwegian champions at Parkhead (BT Sport 3, 8pm). The Bhoys are 1/2, a draw 7/2 and Rosenborg 6/1.

Rangers, by contrast, are in a tough Group G and the bookmakers place them last in assessing the probability of the winners. Villarreal are 4/6 (Betvictor), Spartak Moscow 5/1 (Hills/Coral), Rapid Vienna 9/1 and Rangers 10/1 (Betvictor). The Glaswegians travel to the Estadio de la Ceramica (BT Sport, 5.55pm) and the match prices are Villarreal 1/3, a draw 9/2 (Betfred) and Rangers 11/1 (Coral).
