SUPPORTERS cheering on Scotland this summer at the country's largest fan zone for the Euros can take advantage of free travel to the venue.

The Dunfermline City Fan Zone, which will be held at KDM Group East End Park between June 14-23, have announced Stagecoach as its official transport partner.

With iconic Pars mascot Sammy the Tammy at the wheel sporting the new kit Steve Clarke's side will wear when they step on to the pitch at Euro 2024, it has been announced that anybody who has a ticket for any of Scotland's three matches can travel to and from the fan zone for free using an East Scotland DayRider ticket.

Fans heading to the home of Dunfermline Athletic to watch the Scots in action against hosts Germany, Switzerland and Hungary can travel from as far afield as Glasgow to the west, and Aberdeen to the north, saving up to £11.50 per person.

Alister Burn, commercial manager of Dunfermline Athletic, said: "At the outset, we wanted to create an event that was as affordable for as many people as possible to attend.

"With our Stagecoach partnership, this makes it even more accessible, with a saving of £27 for a family of four. We were also acutely aware of the environmental impact such large scale events have, so allowing Scotland fans to leave their cars at home and travel green with Stagecoach is another huge positive."

Scott Hall, head of commercial for Stagecoach East Scotland, commented: "We're proud to be the official transport partner for the Dunfermline City Fan Zone, helping the people of east Scotland get to the events and support Scotland in the UEFA European Championships 2024.

"It's important for us to give back to the local community who rely on our services each day, and we look forward to cheering on the Scotland national team together."

The Dunfermline City Fan Zone will run from Scotland's opening game of the tournament, against Germany, which is the competition's first match, until their final group match against Hungary.

Two festival-style LED screens will be positioned either side of the Norrie McCathie Stand, which will accommodate up to 3,000 fans on each day the fan zone is operational.

There will be a dedicated family area whilst a stage will also be erected for other forms of entertainment, including interviews, bands and DJs, whilst there will also be food trucks and stalls, a fully licensed bar, and other activities and entertainment, including face painting, Playstation and Xbox and table football for kids.

It is also hoped that, outwith the dates of Scotland's matches, the fan zone will be utilised for other events for the community, most of which will be free to attend, with ideas including a Fife food festival, an outdoor movie night, a concert, and offerings for youngsters.

The Stagecoach ticketing offer will be extended to other scheduled events as they are announced.

Supporters who purchase a match ticket will receive a special promotional code that can be redeemed on the Stagecoach Bus app for free travel.
