Both girls won all their events on their way to claiming the titles in their respective age groups.

Athletes compete in up to five events and earn points for their performances, with the top points scorers in each age category becoming club champions.

Jeynes won the under-11 100m in 16.01s, the 800m in 3:08.05, the high jump with a clearance of 1.00m, the long jump with 3.29m and the shot putt with a throw of 3.78m.

She also won the 300m in an impressive time of 43.07s, with this performance making her the first winner of the Sean McQueen Memorial Salver.

A former Scottish, Scottish Schools and East District champion, and a member of Scotland’s winning Celtic Games 4x400 team in 2004, McQueen sadly passed away last month at the age of just 27.

As a tribute, the club decided to present the Sean McQueen Memorial Salver at the club championships, with the award being presented for the best performance over 300m or 400m.

The 400m was one of his favourite events - his personal best was 49.49s.

Also producing some outstanding performances on their way to becoming club champions were Lewis Blair (above left), who won four of his five events (800m, 1500m, long jump and 200m) at under-13 level; and Joshua Revie, who also won four out of five events (100m, 200m, 300m and shot putt) at under-15 level.
