PITREAVIE AAC star Eilidh Child has been ranked as the second best women's 400m hurdler in British history.
The 28-year-old, who is set to compete in this summer's Olympic Games in Rio, is behind only 1992 Olympic champion Sally Gunnell in rankings produced by UK Athletics statistician Mel Watman.
The findings were put together to identify Britain's greatest ever athletes in all track and field events and published in Athletics Weekly magazine to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
The lists are based on athletes' performances at Olympic, World, European, Commonwealth and UK championships, as well as on world rankings and UK records.
Child, the 2014 European champion and Commonwealth Games silver medalist, was also ranked second in the world in the same year and she tweeted: "Not bad company to be around!"
Pitreavie AAC commented: "Congratulations to Eilidh and best wishes for the 2016 season, particularly the Rio Olympics. A great role model for our youngsters to follow."
