PITREAVIE AAC’s Club Championship is underway this weekend – and for the second year running, the competition has been sponsored by Dalgety Bay firm Cooper Software.
A £400 donation from the technology consultancy business – which last month was named ‘Best Performing Business (under 50 employees)’ at the Fife Chamber of Commerce Business Awards – will help meet the costs of staging the two-day event.
Paul Allan, Pitreavie club president, said: “We’re over the moon that Cooper Software will be our official sponsor again this year for the club championships.
“Their support is greatly appreciated as the entry fees do not even cover the track hire, so the club always needs to subsidise the event,” Mr Allan added.
The club championships mark the start of Pitreavie’s outdoor summer season, with athletes from under-11s upwards competing in a full range of track and field events.
Frank Cooper, managing director of Cooper Software, said: “We have supported Pitreavie AAC in several ways in the past few years.
“We are glad to be sponsors of the club championships again, and we wish all the athletes good luck.”
