KINGDOM Athletic are in the UK National Final after a Youth Development League Northern Premier Division play-off last Sunday.

The team, which includes Pitreavie athletes, travelled to Sheffield to decide which two teams would make it through. Kingdom faced Team Glasgow, Team Forth Valley, Leeds City, Team Edinburgh and City of York and finished second behind Edinburgh to qualify.

In two ‘A’ string races, Craig Moriarty was second in the 100m (11.34 seconds) and the 200m (22.88). Taylor Roy competed in the ‘B’ string, winning the 100m in 11.78 and the 200m in 23.43. He also won the 110m hurdles in 15.49.

Ben Grant was second in the 400m in 51.72 while Billy Doyle won the under-17 200m (22.98, PB) and 400m (51.07). Also in the U17s, Lee Turner was second in the 200m ‘B’ string in 24.25.

Cameron Keelan was second in the 100m hurdles (14.50) and Sophie Siriwardina finished third in the U20s ‘A’ string 400m. She also ran the 300m hurdles, winning the ‘B’ race in a time of 47.07, as Sarah Duff placed third in the 100m ‘A’ string in 12.95 before clocking a PB over 200m in 26.50.

Ailsa Marsh was third in the ‘B’ 100m (13.51). James Adam was second in the U20s ‘B’ (2:00.77) and third ‘A’ (4:12.48) in the 1500m. Andrew McNair was third in the ‘B’ 3000m (10:22.31).

Alex Johnston took third place in the U17 1500m in 4:24.80 while Jemma Jamieson won the 3000m ‘B’ (11:54.82) and the 1500m steeplechase (5:39.33). In the pole vault, Craig Moriarty was second in the U20 ‘A’ string with 3.50m and Taylor Roy won the ‘B’ string with 2.60m. Alistair Moriarty was second in the U17 group and Alana Dunsmore won the U20 women’s vault in 3.10m.

Cameron Keelan was third in the ‘B’ long jump with 5.21m and Sean Redpath won the U20 ‘B’ triple jump with 10.61m. Ryan Woods won the U17 high jump (1.85m); Lisa O’Neill won the U20 javelin (34.91m) and Eve Huxley was second in the ‘B’ javelin (7.78m). Rachel Thompson was third in the U17 ‘B’ shot putt (6.82m) and discus (15.83m).

In the relays, the men’s and women’s U17 4x100m quartets both won, as did the U20 men’s 4x400m team. The men’s U17s were second.

The women’s U17 4x300m won their race.
