Pitreavie among the medals at Scottish Indoor Championships

PITREAVIE AAC athletes had a huge medal haul at the Indoor Scottish Closed Senior Championships and East District Championships held at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow over the weekend, winning eight gold, 11 silver and five bronze medals.
There were two double champions in the district championships with under-15 athlete Kirsten Galbraith and Bethanie Finlayson, competing in her first ever under-17 competition.
Kirsten picked up her first gold medal in the long jump, leaping to 4.99metres. Kirsten"s second gold came in the 200m where she ran 27.50 seconds to win by more than a second.
Bethanie was also in dominant form; her first gold came in the 300m, where she was making her championship debut over the distance, winning by half a second in a time of 42.85. Her second gold came in the 200m, where she won by more than half a second in 26.43.
Rory Fulton picked up a gold in the under-13 boys" long jump with a jump of 4.02m.
Rose Fagan won the under-15 girls" 60m hurdles in a time of 9.79.
The final two golds came in the closed senior championships where Craig Robertson cruised to victory in the 1500m with a time of 4:03.26 and Stacey Downie ran an excellent race to win the 60m with a time of 7.72.
Silver medallists were numerous but one athlete picked up two silvers.
Allan Smith showed his versatility, winning his first silver in the under-17 high jump with 1.80m then took his second silver in the shot putt with a throw of 11.82m.
Anthony Young recorded an indoor personal best in the under-17 400m of 50.08 to win his silver medal.
Under-13 athlete Zoe Black jumped beyond the 4m barrier for the first time, leaping to 4.02 to win the silver.
Chloe Nethery picked up her silver in the under-13 shot putt with 5.80m.
Rebecca Law grabbed her silver medal in the under-17 long jump with 4.96m.
Ben Potrykus ran an excellent 2:26.5 to win the silver in the under-15 boys" 800m, training partner Aidan Thompson also won the silver in the under-13 boys" 800m with a time of 2:47.2.
Daniel Clark threw 7.68m for silver in the under-13 shot putt.
Ryan Oswald recorded a personal best in the men"s 60m with a time of 6.95.
Robertson picked up his second medal of the championships with silver in the men"s 800m with a time of 1:53.73.
The four bronze medals were over various ages.
Stewart Souter, running in his first ever under-13 competition, was third in the 60m in a time of 8.90.
Rachel Easton also moved up an age group to win the bronze medal in the under-15 girls" 60m with a time of 8.60.
Smith added to his very successful weekend with bronze in the under-17 triple jump with a leap of 12.04m.
Michaela Brown ran an excellent 2:31.13 to pick up the bronze in the under-15 800m.
Jamie Coull finished just behind team mate Oswald in the men"s 60m to win bronze in a time of 7.02, having ran a personal best of 6.96 in his semi.
