IT WAS a day of firsts and lasts for Pitreavie AAC at the final of the JSB Forth Valley League, held at Grangemouth on Saturday.
The club was delighted to come third overall in Division One of the league - open to clubs in Central Scotland for all athletes from under-11 to under-15.
Pitreavie have already competed in two matches before this final and the athletes did exceptionally well, achieving great results and personal bests, putting some in a great position to be chosen for the President's Select Match on 31st August.
The final saw athletes competing for the first time for the club.
Rowan McTavish and Ben Johnston (pictured), both only just turned nine, competed in several events in the under-11 category. Rowan ran a great 200 metres and took part in the 4x400m relay, while Ben took part in the 100m, 800m and high jump.
Meanwhile, several athletes competed in this league for the last time.
Craig Moriarty, Adam Johnston, Amiker Best, Laura Fegan and Ruth Harvey will all be competing in the under-17 category when the league takes place next summer and will be too old to take part.
Nicola Moriarty, one of the team managers, said, "We were really happy to come third out of nine teams.
"All the athletes contributed to this success and special thanks to the athletes who will be moving on next year."
