TEN athletes from hosts Pitreavie AAC won titles at the Young Athletes’ Trophy Meeting on Sunday – with double winner Euan Johnston the club’s star performer.

Euan (pictured), competing at under-13 level, demonstrated his all-round athletic ability by winning the 75 metres hurdles in 13.66 seconds and the 800m in 2:34.94.

And he also secured a place on the podium in the long jump, finishing second with 4.08m.

Another athlete enjoying a good day was Bethany McAndrew, who won the under-15 75m hurdles in 12.11 and also claimed second place in the long jump with 4.74m.

Iona Crawford was the winner in the under-15 800m in 2:28.24, Emma Rae launched a huge throw of 50.44m to win the under-15 hammer, and Aimee Scott took the under-15 high jump title, clearing 1.50m.

Leah Davie won the under-17 800m in 2:26.25 and was also third in the 1500m.

James Adam (under-15) and Lewis Blair (under-13) recorded victories in their 1500m finals, clocking 4:36.46 and 5:02.78 respectively, while Campbell Dowie won the under-11 600m in an impressive 1:55.84.

Ruth Harvie won the under-17 pole vault competition, clearing 2.10m.

Martin Carr was runner-up in both the under-17 400m and long jump, while Billy Doyle secured second place in the under-13 200m final and third in the high jump.

Also finishing second in their events were Emily Nicholson (U15 1500m), Lexie Cook (U17 300m), Ben Grant (U15 200m) and Alex Johnston (U15 1500m).

And making it on to the podium in third place were Ailsa Marsh (U13 200m), Jenny Gillanders (U13 800m), Eve Huxley (U15 200m), Conor Gourley (U11 600m), Michael Woods (U11 shot putt), Gregor McPherson (U13 long jump), Jamie Stewart (U15 80m hurdles), Ryan Woods (U15 high jump), Sean Redpath (U15 long jump), Dylan Thomson (U15 javelin), Ross Wilson (U17 200m), Kyle Henderson (U17 400m), Corey Smith (U17 800m) and Adam Johnston (U17 long jump).

At the same meeting, the David Candlish Invitational Mile was won by Pitreavie’s Scott McAlpine in a time of 5:32.41.

Talented youngster Ben Laming was Dunfermline Track & Field’s star performer at the Trophy meeting.

Ben, competing at under-11 level, completed a sprint double, winning the 150m in 21.99 and the 75m in 11.22.

Soraya Sadeghpoor (U13 100m), Jade Hutchison (U13 high jump), Brodie Ferguson (U13 shot putt) and Craig Dunlop (U15 high jump) all picked up trophies for finishing second.

And also making it on to the podium after finishing third in their competitions were Nicole De-Pear (U17 200m), Kerrin De-Pear (U17 high jump) and Robbie Ashcroft (U11 150m) Tyler White, representing Queen Anne High School, won the under-17 1500m at the meeting in a time of 4:34.01.
