A NUMBER of personal best performances were achieved by Pitreavie athletes at the National Indoor Open Championships at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena on Saturday.

Billy Doyle and Marcus Archer were among the club’s top performers, both setting two new personal bests.

Billy (pictured, photo: Steve Adam) recorded his new best times in the sprints, clocking 8.56 seconds for the 60 metres and 27.38 for the 200m. He also took part in the long jump, recording a leap of 4.08 metres.

Marcus set new bests of 7.55 in the 60m and 54.1 in the 400m, winning both his races in the process.

Craig Moriarty (below) produced an outstanding performance in the pole vault, breaking the four-metre barrier for the first time, recording a new personal best height of 4.05m.

And Josh Spence knocked an incredible three seconds off his best in the 300m, clocking 44.4. He also recorded a long jump of 3.71m.

Taylor Roy set his new personal best in the 60m hurdles, winning his race in 8.81.

And Lucy McRoberts achieved a new best in the 60m, winning her race in 8.69. She also ran a 200m in 27.68, just outside her best.

Ailsa Marsh equalled her personal best of 8.81 in the 60m and also took part in the 200m, recording a time of 29.02.

High jumpers Ryan Woods and Kirsten Loudon also equalled their best performances, both clearing 1.60m. Kirsten also ran the 60m hurdles in 9.88.

Others competing in Glasgow included Niamh Guest (60m hurdles, 9.98; 60m, 8.49), Ryan Oswald (60m, 6.98), Ben Potrykus (1500m, 4:14.10), David Agnew (200m, 23.97; 400m, 52.2) and Iona Crawford (200m, 28.13).
