Dunfermline High’s Emma Rae won the gold medal in the under-17 hammer with an impressive throw of 50.80 metres.

Woodmill High pole vaulter Kirsten Cronie won the under-20 competition with a clearance of 2.80m and Taylor Roy (pictured), of Beath High, was another winner, his success coming in the under-17 100m hurdles in a time of 14.39 seconds.

Silver medals were won by Woodmill’s Alana Dunsmore and St Columba’s pupil Craig Moriarty, who were competing in the under-17 pole vault events, and cleared 2.60m and 3.90m respectively.

Ryan Woods, of Woodmill, was another silver medallist, clearing 1.70m in the under-15 high jump, and under-14 hammer thrower Sara Merabet picked up a silver for Dunfermline High with her throw of 27.48m.

Inverkeithing High’s Alex Johnston was a double medal winner, picking up bronzes in the under-15 800m in 2:10.82 and the 1500m in 4:26.03.

Another West Fife medal winner was Louise McCullagh, of St Columba’s, who is a member of Fife AC. She was third in the under-17 1500m steeplechase in 555.38.

A number of Pitreavie athletes representing schools outwith West Fife also picked up medals at the championships.

Lewis McGuire, of Balfron High, won the under-20 high jump with a clearance of 2.01m and Ben McGuire, also Balfron High, won the under-20 long jump with a leap of 6.96m.

And there were bronze medals for Kirsten McIntee, of Larbert High, in the under-20 triple jump with 10.23m, and Iona Crawford, of Kinross High, who clocked 43.02 in the under-15 300m.
