Forfar So Good

MAD March continues apace for Forfar as we lost our fourth game on the trot away at Montrose during the week.
It was a doubly hard blow to take after a hugely disappointing 5-1 defeat at home to Annan only three days before.
Manager Dick Campbell left us in no uncertain terms that the we had let the whole club down with our performances, not just against Montrose, but in the previous few games.
Fair play to Steven Tweed and his Montrose team, they deserved their victory and responded well when reduced to ten men to keep pushing forward and take their chances when they came.
They were obviously ecstatic to win their first home game of the season but being the team who helps break their duck leaves a player feeling sick to the stomach, an obvious admission that we had performed way below the standards we set ourselves.
The one good thing is that the games are coming thick and fast at the moment so the opportunity to rectify performances and results is always just around the corner.
Last year we faced a similar game glut and were fortunate to go on a good run of results, with each good performance rolling onto the next, until the wheels came off as the sheer number of matches caught up with us.
It's important the opposite doesn't happen and we let our bad run snowball into something much more severe.
If we're looking for inspiration we could look no further than East Stirling who had a similar bad run of results a few weeks ago, and have shown the ability and character to bounce back and rectify their performances.
Remarkably, after such a run of poor results, we are still in a strong position to reach the playoffs, sitting third in the league, but now with a slew of hungry teams close on our tail.
This Saturday Albion Rovers come visiting, a team who will still harbour playoff hopes themselves no doubt. Nothing less than a victory is necessary to regain confidence and get ourselves back on the playoff track.
