The opening partnership lasted for four overs and at one point the Knights were 45-3 off 15 overs.

Wickets began to fall quickly until Neal Service started the fightback, scoring 29 runs.

Ben Wilkinson then scored 54 runs off 54 balls and was supported by Chris Humphreys, who scored 74 runs off 83. Usman Saleem scored a quick-fire 27 and the Knights ended their innings on 236-7.

Carlton went into bat with a great total to chase. Unfortunately opportunities weren't taken in the field and Carlton managed to chase the total down in the 45th over, Chris Humphreys taking 40-1 off 10 and Jordan Davidson 31-1 off his 10.

The Knights were beaten by seven wickets.

That's four wins out of five so far this season and the Knights are hoping to return to form this Saturday where they are away to Dunfermline Carnegie at Pitreavie.

A very young third team travelled to Edinburgh to take on Holy Cross 3s.

Good batting from their much more experienced opponents saw them rack up 186 for 4.

In very trying conditions the young Knights showed admirable spirit in keeping their opposition below 200.

An opening partnership between Ben Wilkinson, who scored 59 and Scott Lucas, with 30, gave the youngsters a good platform.

However, wickets fell at regular intervals, by the time the ninth wicket fell, 30-odd was still needed.

The last two made a valiant effort but came up some six runs short with Dunfermline scoring 178 all out.
