CRICKET kings Bellyeoman Primary School left their opponents stumped once more as they qualified for the Scottish finals of a Kwik Cricket festival.

The Primary 6 pupils left their opponents bowled over with an impressive display at the crease to win the Fife Schools Kwik Cricket Festival on Wednesday, which takes them through to the national finals in Perth on Wednesday, June 15.

The event, which was held at Falkland Cricket Club last week, brought together the winners and runners-up of Primary 6 competitions held in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Freuchie and Largo to decide who would be crowned the Kingdom’s best.

Bellyeoman and Pitreavie Primary Schools had finished first and second in the Dunfermline festival, hosted by Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council, and they repeated the feat at Falkland after producing some fine play on an action-packed day which catered for youngsters of all levels of ability.

While Bellyeoman qualified for the finals, Pitreavie and the other participating teams played some excellent cricket and contributed to a highly successful day.

Pupils are now invited to play cricket at Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club, McKane Park, on Thursdays at 6.15pm, or at Broomhall Cricket Club in Charlestown on Fridays at 6.15pm.
