NEWLY-promoted Dunfermline Knights Cricket Club say their search for a coach won"t begin until two star players make decisions about their futures.

The Knights are hoping South African Colin Ingram and Australian amateur Matt Jones (pictured) will sign new contracts following the club"s promotion to to the first division of cricket"s SNCL.

Former coach Steven Fryer has returned to coach a team in Brisbane after two seasons in charge.

Speaking from the team"s McKane Park ground, spokesman Tom Gibson told Press Sport, 'It"s still early days yet to think about a replacement coach.

'We"ll start doing things when we find out about Colin and Matt"s decisions – they are crucial to our plans.

'Ingram would like to have stayed but his wife and two-year-old daughter are back home.'

He added that Ingram"s decision also depended on his commitments in Australia, after he was made captain of Eastern Province last season.

He added, 'Colin is currently back in South Africa – he wanted to speak to his agent and coach about his future. If there are no stumbling blocks he"ll be here next season.

'It"s nice to have guys like them who know what"s required and know how to play in Scotland. If they leave, I guess we"ll just have to try and find other players of the same calibre.

'As far as coaching is concerned the overseas players have a big input as they both have the required level two certificates.'

The new cricket season begins on 11th April.
