Six of the best for Carnegie swimmers at Livingston gala

TWELVE youngsters from the Carnegie Swimming Club development squads competed in the 25th anniversary Livingston Dolphins Development Gala held at Whitburn Swimming Pool on Saturday.
From 38 swims, Carnegie achieved six first place finishes, four second places, four thirds and 30 personal bests.
Eight-year-old Megan McGhee, competing in the girls" 9yrs category, picked up three first place finishes in the 25m butterfly (21.02), 25m breaststroke (23.98) and 25m freestyle (17.83) and a second place in the 25m backstroke (20.97).
Nine-year-old Fraser Beeby, competing in the boys" 10yrs category, picked up a first place in the 25m butterfly (18.74) and 50m freestyle (38.73) and finished runner-up in both the 50m breaststroke (51.16) and 50m backstroke (43.43).
In his only swim of the day, 11-year-old Greig Reid won the boys" 11yrs 50m freestyle in a time of 36.89.
Carrie McLennan, competing in the girls" 11yrs breaststroke finished second in 51.55, beating her PB by 2.14 secs.
Sol Sweeney, competing in the boys" 11yrs category, was third in the 50m breaststroke (56.79) and 50m freestyle (39.19).
Team mates Heather Paul and Claire Lee, competing in the girls" 10yrs category, both finished third in their respective races.
Heather was third in the 50m backstroke (49.85) and Claire third in the 50m freestyle (40.70).
Missing out on a top three finish but improving on their personal best times were Emily Adams, Lucy Hallam, Aiden Mitchell, Hamish Neil and Andrew Waterworth.
