THE SCOTTISH Motor Racing Club brings round two of the SMRC Scottish Championships to Knockhill Racing Circuit this Sunday (5th May).

The 'Maggie Miller Race of Champions' is named in memory of the wife of Ford Fiesta XR2 Champion and ST racer Peter Cruickshank who passed away recently.

The meeting will feature a triple header race for the Ford Fiesta and ST Championships with a number of former champions coming back to compete.

As well as Cruikshank, ST Champion Dave Colville and Edinburgh's Olly Mortimer will be competing, plus Rory Bryant and Glasgow's XR2 champion Scott Fraser.

The event features a 15 race programme includes Mini Coopers, Legends, Formula Fords and Saloons among others.

Stuart Gray, events director at Knockhill said, "We are really looking forward to round two of the SMRC Championships on Sunday, following on from a bumper crowd meeting at the start of April.

"The atmosphere and crowd was really thrilling for all those taking part and the racing lived up to the billing too.

"The naming of the event after Maggie is entirely appropriate as the Ford contest features with their triple header and with Peter having campaigned for so many seasons in his trusty XR2 to finally clinch the championship in 2012 before moving on to the faster Fiesta ST class."

The action kicks off with qualifiers at 8:30am and the first 15 races from 11am.
