THEY"RE called Brazil and, for the past two seasons, they"ve played like Brazil.

The Blue Brazil under-15s have once again swept the board this season winning the Fife league and cup double, repeating the feat from when they were under-14s - a double double.

Last year the side, the bulk of which come from Dunfermline and attend Dunfermline, Queen Anne and St Columba"s high schools, went on to become national champions and they will try to retain their national crown at Braehead later this month.

The side were unbeaten in their 22 league games this season and lifted the cup thanks to a 2-0 win over Wemyss at the Warout Stadium, Glenrothes, thanks to goals from captain James McDonough and Greig Smith.

Club chairman and co-founder Andy Mair, who"s coached the boys since they were seven, told Press Sport, 'They"re a really cracking side.

"They"re enthusiastic lads who turn up to every training session. They work hard and they"ve got their rewards.

'They started off playing seven-a-sides at Pitreavie before they went to 11-a-side and that was good for their skill levels.

"They"re a really good passing team and they"ve done excellently over the last few years.'

Andy revealed the trophies had come at a perfect time for the club.

'It"s been really good for the club as a whole,' he explained.

'Our strips got pinched off a washing line in Dunfermline (reported by the Press) and our pavilion was burnt down so we"ve been out raising money for a new place.

'It"s been a really hard time for the club as a whole and this wee bit of success just lifts everyone.

'I"m very proud of the lads but all the success wouldn"t have been possible without my fellow coach, Joe Reid, treasurer Katrina McDonough and secretary Karen Allan,' he added.
