PARS have rescheduled the Queen of the South home match for tomorrow night (Tuesday) with kick-off at 7.45pm.
Saturday's match was a late casualty of the cold, with parts of the pitch frozen.
The undersoil heating had not been turned on as the overnight weather forecast had predicted a temperature not as low as it turned out to be.
Saturday was a fine sunny day but the area of the pitch in the shadow of the main stand was deemed unplayable when the referee made an inspection at 12.30.
Given the pleasant conditions the call-off came as a surprise to fans turning up at the ground not aware of any pitch problems.
Queens are in fourth place in the league, four points ahead of the Pars with a game in hand.
Jim McIntyre's side will be looking for revenge for the 4-1 home defeat to the Dumfries men at East End Park in September.
The manager was unhappy over "schoolboy defending" which cost the Pars dear on that occasion.
