Karate kid Callum is a black belt at eight!
A ROSYTH karate kid "phenomenon" has been awarded his black belt at the tender age of eight.
Callum Clark, who attends North Queensferry Primary, started the sport at three-years-old and currently trains at up to five classes per week to hone his craft.
The youngster is following in his family's footsteps as the third member of his clan to achieve a black belt, after dad Iain and older brother Ross.
Chief instructor of JKS Scotland, Paul Giannandrea, said, "He's an exceptional young student who has won a stack of gold medals at fighting championships at his age. In the last year he has become a bit of a phenomenon in his age group.
"This is a very young age to achieve a black belt. I don't think there will be many across Scotland who have reached this level so quickly as normally it takes an average person about three-and-a-half years to reach black belt.
"He's now been selected for the international squad so he will soon be extensively covering Europe to compete and, at his age group, he is definitely a number one contender," added Paul.
"We are all very proud of him and his family deserve immense credit for how well they work with and encourage him."
