Showdown for Shedden
West Fife flyer Gordon Shedden insists it would be a dream come true to be first across the line at this weekend's British Touring Car Championship showdown.
Championship leader Shedden, who is chasing the first BTCC title of his career, holds a 15-point lead over Jason Plato heading into the final race of the season.
The Dalgety Bay driver is hoping to become the first Scotsman in 17 years, since John Cleland in 1995, to claim the BTCC crown at Brands Hatch.
Shedden said, "It's all to play for and I'm looking forward to it. You want the opportunity to race for championships and I've left myself in the best possible position.
"This is what I've worked for ever since I sat in a race car. It's the culmination of a lot of effort from a lot of people and a lot of support. It would be an absolute dream come true.
"I am keeping my feet on the ground as I know there's a lot of racing still to go and there will be a lot of twists and turns. It's been a long time since the trophy has come back to Scotland."
