BLAIRFORGE boxing referee, Andrew Caulfield, was at the centre of the action officiating during the Commonwealth Games light-heavyweight final at The Hydro.
He had a busy schedule judging and refereeing in the hundreds of contests which made up the ladies' and mens' competitions in Glasgow and was delighted to land a final in the climax to a highly successful boxing tournament.
The bout saw New Zealand's David Nyika beat Kennedy St Pierre, from Mauritius, by a unanimous points decision.
It was the second time that the Olympic referee had taken part in the Commonwealth Games and like in Delhi four years before, Andrew, who runs his own painting and decorating business, saw plenty of bruising battles, with involvement in more than 40 contests.
