INVERKEITHING Hillfield Swifts 2004s wizards squad pulled a rabbit out of the hat by securing sponsorship for new kit.

The team, one of a number that the club field in the 2004 age group, will sport new strips for the winter league at Beath High School thanks to a partnership with West Fife online recruitment firm Be-IT. New bags for the players have been sponsored by H S Fishmongers in Inverkeithing and Promotional Inspirations have provided printing work.

Barry Tillier, one of the club’s coaches at the 2004 age group, said, “Having sponsorship like this helps keep the team going and we are very thankful for the support. Getting new strips, accessories and equipment makes the kids feel that they really belong to something. They’ve started in the winter league at Beath High School but they are already looking forward to the season starting again at Pitreavie in March. It was a bit of a transition for them at the start of the year as it was almost entirely a new team, so they had to get to know each other but they have done very well. They’re going to the Craigtarra festival in May as well so there is a lot to look forward to.” The club - which run teams from mini-kickers through to juvenile level - are holding a Christmas day out at the Odeon cinema for all players on 21st December and anyone who would like to sponsor the event should get in touch with the club.
