The medal total for the club was an amazing 10 gold, five silver and four bronze, with 10 partnerships earning the title 2015 Scottish champions.

In many cases, those finishing in silver and bronze position were beaten only by their Acrobay team-mates.

The two-day event, held over the weekend of 14th and 15th March, attracted a large number of entrants and spectators to Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell, for the first day of the competition and the concluding day at Avondale Centre, Larkhall.

A total of 155 partnerships from clubs across Scotland competed over 10 categories – from NDP Grade 1 to FIG (International) senior groups at the event. The 46 Acrobay gymnasts, working in pairs or trios, all performed stunning choreographed routines with intricate balances, exciting multiple somersaults and with partners being dramatically thrown and caught, many achieving personal best scores in what proved to be a very high-scoring competition.

The NDP gymnasts finishing in gold position and earning the title 2015 Scottish champions will now represent Scotland at the British finals in Stoke in May, while those finishing in second and third position will represent club and country at the Southampton Inter-regional competition, also in May.

There were a record number of entries this year and the standard from all of the clubs was incredibly high, so for everyone to finish in medal position is absolutely amazing. Massive congratulations to all of our gymnasts and our fabulous coaching team; I’m beyond proud!”
