A record number of riders with Dunfermline’s youth cycling club attended the event, hosted by Meedies Bike Club at Lochore Country Meadows, that consists of a fun series of mountain biking events for aspiring bikers aged between 6-18.
Five events will be held in the series during this year and there were a number of podium finishes for the club to savour, with Anna Birrell claiming her second win in the under-8 girls competition while there was an impressive second and third place respectively for Elliot Davies and Finlay Cooper in the under-10 boys.
There were identical finishes for Martha Cooper and Lois Thompson in the under-10 girls, while there was a convincing win for last year’s winner Finton Price in the under-12 boys event as he leads the series ahead of Jamie MacKenzie, who finished third.
The podium finishes continued for the Cyclones with Adam Campbell coming second in the under-14 boys race while Scott Salmond, also riding for Meedies, showcased his skills in the under-18 event.
Other notable performances saw Matthew McCleery finish fourth in the under-8 boys race, older brother Ewan post the same result in the under-10 category and Rosie Price just miss out on the podium in the under-10 girls.
The next round of the Kingdom Crits is on Sunday 10th May at Riverside Park in Glenrothes hosted by the Muky Riderz club.
