RYA Scotland Club of the Year 2014, the Bay sailing club is getting involved and encouraging people to come along and try sailing for the first time.

The club, well-known for working with local businesses and organisations, have a fun-packed day planned for the whole family, including dinghy and keelboat sailing, bouncy castles and powerboat rides as well as food and craft stalls. The clubhouse has lots of great facilities including changing rooms and showers for those getting on the water and also a place to shelter from the weather if the sun isn’t shining.

The event takes place on Saturday 16th May from 12pm onwards.

Laura, from Dalgety Bay Sailing Club, said, “Dalgety Bay has excellent instructors who are really friendly and excited to teach anyone who wants to learn the sport they are so passionate about. Our amazing clubhouse has a very welcoming atmosphere with great views of the River Forth. Come along and find out what we have to offer.” Liza Linton, from RYA Scotland, said, “Push The Boat Out is a great way for us to promote the sport nationally and to encourage as many people as possible to get out on the water. Whether you have never sat in a boat in your life or you are looking to return to the sport after a break, get yourself, your friends and your family down to your local club or centre for a great day on the water and to meet lots of new people.” All you need to take part are a change of clothes, soft-soled shoes and a towel and the club will provide everything else. Booking is essential for some of the activities.
